Things That Irritate Online Users

Posted on 16 Oct 2008

The internet is getting bigger and bigger and constantly growing on a daily basis, as websites grow so do users. More people spend time searching online then ever before, therefore the increase of things that are irritating web surfers are at an all time high, we'll now take a look a few situations.

Have you ever had the experience where you're surfing on a site, and then suddenly some pesky ads pop up in front of you? I believe that this is an invasion of a user's experience, as the internet surfer isn't requesting to see these ads.

Another bothersome aspect is the constant email spam that users may experience, although this type of spam can be addressed in this day and age, there are still certain pieces that do get filtered through to your inbox. Some of the email spam that is constantly flying around is somewhat scary. If I were a new internet user, I don't know how many scams I would have likely fell into, with the constant emails about winning the lottery and not to mention phishing scams.

One of the most aggravating aspects i've found is that when you go to fill out a form, let's just say for example you're applying for a credit card, you complete the whole form which takes you around fifteen minutes and then you forget to do a six digit password. This site then tells you it has an error and deletes all of your information. I think that this is a total waste of time, and these websites could be potentially losing a lot of clients, who just cannot be bothered to fill the form in for a second time.

If you're also a regular internet user like myself, you'll have accounts on various different sites and we know that using the same password for everything is a major security risk. Therefore when you've been on the internet for years, it's very easy to forget all your passwords, there fore you'll have to sift through a saved spreadsheet to get to them all.

Besides from the above, there are many more irritating situations that may occur online, therefore you should take all necessary precautions to avoid these including using pop up blockers and auto fill forms. These are free to download and can end up saving you a lot of time and trouble.
