Which Cleaners Are the Best The Cheapest Or the Most Efficient?
Posted on 16 Oct 2008
Choosing a commercial cleaning company to take care of the daily chores in your premises is a tougher task than you might think. Once you start looking into what you want done and which companies are available to do the work you'll find all kinds of questions popping into your mind.
How good are they? What are their prices like? Should I hire a team with all round experience or will a general cleaning company do the trick?
A lot of course depends on your needs and what kind of business you have. A warehouse will have very different needs from your average office block, and this should be borne in mind when you're considering which company to choose.
But there is always one temptation that can lead you astray if you're not careful - and that is money. And in this case, you might end up opting for the cheapest company purely because you want to save as much money as possible. After all, it's easy to think that the majority of cleaning companies are virtually the same anyway, isn't it?
The truth is that while it's easy to think that, it's also easy to get so focused on the price that you end up forgetting to compare the actual service that is being offered. for example, the most efficient, versatile and comprehensive service will rarely be the cheapest, but it will be the best you can buy because you will not end up with constant problems that you have to deal with.
Here is a typical example. Let's say you hire the cheapest company available to take care of your office cleaning, and they start work on the date you've agreed. A week or so later you notice that half of the jobs you've contracted them to do aren't being done - or at least they aren't being done to the best standards. What's more it's sometimes difficult to get through to speak to anyone at the company.
Not only does this mean you're paying for a substandard service, it also means you're wasting precious time attempting to resolve the problem when you should be taking care of your clients.
On the other end of the scale, if you hire a cleaning company that is quick and efficient and does the job exactly as agreed at the time you agreed for them to do it, then that is worth paying more money for. You can never put a price on efficiency if it has a direct effect on your business, and office cleaning certainly does have a real effect on both your employees and your clients.
So if you're spending too much time attempting to resolve problems with your cleaning service, it might be time to think about getting a new one. That extra money you'd spend on a better service is what you'll pay for peace of mind - and that is priceless.
