Killer Strategy to Ignite Your Sales Cycle
Posted on 17 Oct 2008
What you may or may not have realized depending on where you're in this LIVING funnel is this is your 1st, 2nd, or perhaps this is your final impression. What you're about to see is just depends on which part of THIS funnel you fell into.
Just in case this is your introduction to the cylinder concept for increasing customer exposure, let me bring you up to speed as quickly as possible. A few other people are a little ahead of the game now and want to get to the meat. So if you don't get it now, don't worry we'll give you a chance to catch up with the pack.
In sales it widely understood that sales are not made on the first impression. With rare exception to those charismatic freaks of nature, sales are not made on the first contact.
I know some of you want to argue this point saying things like, "I bought my car the first time I met the salesman." Perhaps, but don't confuse your first contact with the salesman as your first contact in the sales process. There was a commercial, ad, endorsement from a friend, or some other contact that lead you to the salesman. Almost NEVER will a sale take place with just one contact particularly on the Internet.
So how do most marketers go about making contact?
Good question to ask. The answer however isn't so good. Most marketers create a site and hope customers will find their site and money will come rolling in. Some find out how to put their site in front of people ready to buy. Others create a place where you can request more information so they can sell to you gradually with one stodgy email at a time.
The major problem with these techniques is that we live in an age with a new disease, Internet Attention Deficit Disorder (IADD).
People don't have time or patience to read your newsletter, your email, or your web page. If you don't capture enough attention NOW it's not likely you'll keep them around long enough to make that second, third, or the magical 7th impression, unless you're really good.
So what can you do?
Use a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) trick and lead people by the hand. Guide them on a tour, from one impression to the next. If you pay attention you'll realize this is what happens when you're searching on the web.
Think about it. How many times did you will find what you where looking for the first time you did a search on Google. Now really think about how good you felt when you finally began to hit pay dirt, even better when you found something and it lead you to more information and even more information, until finally you were so deep in the mix you could not even remember how you got to where you wanted to be.
Ahhh...
Now that is the Zen of Marketing no one speaks about and, my friend, you're in the middle of a live example of how the circle works.
