Flavorful Sunnyvale, Texas

The Town of Sunnyvale is located about fifteen miles east of downtown Dallas. A part of the thriving Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, this small, upscale community in eastern Dallas County retains a personality and flavor all on its own. Sunnyvale continues to preserve its "rural flair" while balancing quality business growth.
Historically, the Town of Sunnyvale is a young Dallas County community. However, this active and growing Town has its roots from the settlement days of Texas. Four rural hamlets, Long Creek, New Hope, Hattersville, and Tripp merged in 1953 to form Sunnyvale. Homesteaders settled the Long Creek hamlet in about 1845. This historic hamlet was located along Long Creek. New Hope became a center of rural commerce when Mr. Tinsley purchased land for a store building in 1885.
Sunnyvale shares borders to the north and west with the larger suburbs of Mesquite and Garland, where shopping, fine dining and entertainment are only minutes away. At the same time, the town is also bordered by the peaceful waters of Lake Ray Hubbard and the sprawling, rural expanse of Kaufman County.
